The Minnesota Twins, formerly the Washington Senators, are a professional baseball franchise currently based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They currently play in the American League Central Division. The Twins have won three World Series in 1924, 1987 and 1991, the first of which occurred when they were still based in Washington. As the Senators, they struggled between the 1920s and 1950s. The team enjoyed success in their early years in Minnesota, reaching the World Series in 1965 with stars like Harmon Killebrew and Jim Kaat on the roster. However, from 1971 to 1986, the Twins never reached the postseason. The Twins also had eight straight losing seasons from 1993 to 2000, but then had their most consistent period of success from 2001 to 2010 with only one losing season in 2007. However, the Twins failed to reach another World Series during this period. Since the 2011 season, the franchise has fallen substantially, with four consecutive losing seasons. ==References==
